Volume @V&A Museum

The increasingly chic Victoria & Albert museum saw the opening of 'Volume' on Friday night. Designed by 3D (Robert Del Naja) from Massive Attack, it is an interactive installation of light and sound set to the impressive backdrop of the John Madejeski Garden.

The dramatic and stunning collection of light panels are motion-activated, creating a show that is entirely influenced by the movements of those in its vicinity. Particularly impressive is the interaction of sound with movement, creating a cocophony of noise that blends surprisingly seamlessly. Personally, I caught most jokes messing with the sculptures producing grimey sounds and rumbling bass. Obviously.

Well worth checking out for the visual spectacle at least. It runs until late January, and only in the dark winter evenings (for full effect).
