3 Daft Monkeys Review

You could rave, skank or mosh every day of the week in London. But its often the random detours that reveal true diversity lying beneath the cool exterior. On Tuesday 3 Daft Monkeys brought their lively show to Dingwalls (Camden) for a good ol' Cornish knees-up. A cheery traditional folk 3-piece, their sound is also a bewildering cocktail of Rave, Balkan, Gypsy, Latin and Dub. With boundless enthusiasm 3DM managed to get a rusty Tuesday crowd bouncing en masse by close. No mean feat. The stand out tracks ('Faces') were the ones with heavy basslines rolling underneath the energetic, rave-influenced fiddle. Curiously enjoyable.
