Carnival preview

Notting Hill Carnival is at last round the corner. Hundreds of thousands of defiant jerk chicken-munching, horn-blowing, reggae skanking party people will flock to W11 to remind London - in this most affluent of areas - of its immigrant heritage. From the earth-trembling Abashanti to the raucous ColvilleTerrace takeover (for Rampage), the soundsystems will provide the perfect backdrop to the cocktail of BBQ and ganja smoke. Already its looking like Ny (and Badness?), Shaggy and Wayne Marshall will be touching down somewhere (probably Rampage). Here's a run-down of my top tune tips for the weekend:
