The Sultan's Elephant

© Joe King

Bigger than two stacked double-deckers and controlled by a dozen French men, the Sultans Elephant sprung up overnight in London to a mixture of bewilderment and wonder. As the centrepiece of this extravagant oversized puppet-theatre production, the beautifully rendered Elephant was embroiled in a story line with a similarly enchanting 20 foot girl. The plot - something about time travelling - saw the pair meet, interact and stroll through Trafalgar Square, Pall Mall and St James Park. The 3 day show was undoubtedly unique, and the collective confusion/wonderment in peoples faces was pretty special.

Truly something that had to be seen to be believed. Glad I wasn't tripping.
