Hospital-Pressure TKOver: Review

Another night for the books down in the hallowed Cooler. Another mad rush to get there. Touched down at DJ Version's pad with Intermet & Snappa, to blaze out a quickfire mix CD for the Hospital crew. Ill try my best to try and upload it somehow, but I reckon its my hottest tape in time.

Version kicked things off around 9pm, after some standard sound engineer jokes. Things warmed up slowly but nicely, and I stepped to the mic around 9.30pm. Cyantific were late so when DJ's Nu:Tone and his hot-like-fire brother, Logistics, decided to play back to back for 2 hours, I figured 'thats a heavy christmas present'. When they said they were happy for me to compere their set, I realised it was Christmas, New Year & my birthday all at once. Touch. And true to form the pair smacked it, rolling thru a selection of Hospital classics and fresh dubs... they gave the system a real work out. Logistics played basslines so deep I almost had the bends. Playing with them was another DnB dream come true... bare fun.

Another privilege was the opportunity to introduce London Electricity Live - for their last ever gig! Sadly, the awe-inspiring classical lead singer (Diane) is departing on a solo tip, and word direct from head honcho Tony Colman is that they are breaking up indefinitely. They'll be back. I hope. It was clearly an emotional night for Tony, Diane, MC Wrec, Jungle Drummer and the whole Hospital family that reached, making things pretty special. Its a just a shame that the usually mad crowd seemed quite subdued all night. End of term fatigue/skintness? Bloody students. ;)

Cyantific and MC Ruthless rounded things off with a quality set, keeping the ravers moving all the way until 3am... late license at last! Fell into beds around 9am after a mash up night in the hotel, topped with live cricket and buffet breakfasts. Bless.

Shouts to all the Hospital crew & Mikey for the big TKOver, all peeps showing Killz bare love. Big up Snappa, Inter, Naughty Firefly, Bawlin' Dawg, Nipper, Bensun, Pete, Deals & C for reaching. And to Skyla, Hustle & Dark Angel who were there, really. Big big night. Again.
