Bassbin @Herbal Review

Whilst browsing the interweb for a suitable photo of the Bassbin crew, I stumbled upon this hilarious photo of Breakage (middle) and my boy Bassline MC (right)... with Pete Doherty! Jokes.

Bassbin @Herbal was a good step out last night. Plenty of thumping beats and the deepest of basslines were enough to offset the tourist/student crowd - in itself not a bad thing, but if you saw them dancing you couldn't help but raise a chuckle. At times it felt like a Will Ferrell film with a Drum 'n' Bass soundtrack. Again, not necessarily a bad thing.

D Bridge delivered a typically heavy set to demonstrate why he is perhaps the most influential man in the scene right now. His musical journey was punctuated with a clutch of rolling corkers that threatened to burst out the ample Herbal soundsystem. Breakage, man-of-the-moment-of-the-Heads, followed on with an explosive set that oozed soul whilst maintaining its tear-out energy. Beginning with a dub-fuelled half step banger (by Amit?) and running into the classic 'Deadline', he proceeded to impress with his mixing and selection.

The Bassbin takeover rolls on...
